Welcome to JustTasks! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the JustTasks mobile application ("App") provided by JustTasks ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using JustTasks, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using JustTasks, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. This includes, without limitation, the disclaimers in Section 8, the limitation of liability in Section 9, and the indemnification obligations in Section 10. You acknowledge that you use the App at your own risk. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, do not download, install, or use the App.
2. Description of Service
JustTasks is a premium task management application available through a monthly subscription with a 7-day free trial. The subscription includes access to all features:
- Local task creation and management
- Timeline-based task organization
- Reminders and notifications
- Personal productivity analytics
- Smart task suggestions
- AI-powered personalized suggestions
- Advanced analytics and insights
- Widgets (iOS and Apple Watch)
- Apple Watch app
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use JustTasks. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 Our Property
The App, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by JustTasks and protected by intellectual property laws.
4.2 Your License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
4.3 Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
- Use the App for commercial purposes without permission
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
- Attempt to access other users' data or our backend systems
5. Subscription & Payments
5.1 Subscription
JustTasks requires a monthly subscription to use. All new users receive a 7-day free trial before being charged:
- Payment is processed through Apple's App Store
- Pricing is displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase
5.2 Free Trial
- New users receive a 7-day free trial with full access to all features
- You will not be charged during the trial period
- The trial automatically converts to a paid monthly subscription unless cancelled before it ends
- Each Apple ID is eligible for one free trial
- If you do not subscribe after the trial, access to the App's features will be restricted
5.3 Billing & Renewal
- Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID Account Settings
5.4 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policies. Contact Apple Support for refund requests.
5.5 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices. You will be notified of any price changes in advance through the App Store.
6. Data & Privacy
6.1 Anonymous Usage Analytics
To improve the suggestion engine, the App collects anonymous, aggregated usage patterns that contain no personally identifiable information. This includes task counts (never titles or content), category distributions, and completion rates. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Help Improve Suggestions. 6.2 Local Data Storage
Your task data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your task content. Uninstalling the App will delete all local data.
6.3 Privacy Policy
Your use of JustTasks is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which details how we handle your information.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the App for illegal purposes
- Use automated tools to interact with the App
- Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities (report them to us instead)
- Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions
- Attempt to access our backend systems or other users' data
8. Disclaimers
8.1 "As Is" Service
JustTasks is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
8.2 No Guarantee
We do not guarantee that:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- AI suggestions will be accurate, appropriate, or actionable
- All features will be available at all times
8.3 AI-Generated Content
AI-powered suggestions are generated by third-party AI models and may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate. Use your judgment when acting on suggestions. We are not responsible for actions taken based on AI suggestions.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 Assumption of Risk
You expressly understand and agree that your use of the App is at your sole risk. JustTasks, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.
9.2 Liability Cap
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total cumulative liability for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the App in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9.3 Exclusion of Damages
In no event shall JustTasks be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Loss of data stored locally on your device
- Cost of procurement of substitute goods or services
- Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
- Any matter beyond our reasonable control
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if JustTasks has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
9.4 Jurisdictional Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless JustTasks and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
11. Termination
11.1 By You
You can stop using the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all local data from your device.
11.2 By Us
We may restrict access to the App if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Attempt to exploit the App
- Are subject to legal requirements
11.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your local task data remains on your device
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at [email protected] to attempt informal resolution.
12.2 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
12.3 Jurisdiction
Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting updated Terms in the App
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Sending a notification for significant changes
Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
14. Miscellaneous
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and JustTasks.
14.2 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
14.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision doesn't constitute a waiver.
14.4 Assignment
We may assign these Terms. You may not assign your rights without our consent.
